a few of my screenplays
During the pandemic, I rediscovered my love of screenwriting and started taking classes through Sundance Collab. Five years later, I’ve written three TV pilots, two full‑length features, one short, and am part of a writers’ group that meets monthly. I’m currently writing my first crime‑drama, set in Atlanta, about the duality of a Black widow navigating grief, survival, and her own ego while raising a family on her own. See examples below.
- Andi Lake Has Things To Do - When 39‑year‑old obsessive list‑maker Andi Lake abruptly quits her exec HR job to attend sommelier school in Paris (#39 on her #40Before40 list), her brother blows it all up by dropping their mother, Magnolia, on her doorstep and speeding off because “Mom’s not Mom.” As she becomes an unwitting caretaker, she is determined to finish her list, even if life and the mother she adores and finds utterly exasperating, refuses to cooperate.
- The BattleGround - It’s 2014, and when a brilliant nouveau Republican launches a groundbreaking campaign to become Georgia’s first Black woman governor, she discovers her greatest obstacle isn’t the opposition; it’s her estranged father, a revered and iconic Atlanta Democrat icon who twice lost the same race twenty years earlier and has now entered it again, this time against her.
- How To Live Your Best Wife - After her aunt dies, a secretly broke and divorcing social media-famous “Wife Coach” and best‑selling author is forced back to her small hometown to settle the estate. There, while scrambling to hide her imploding marriage from her million followers, she stumbles into old regrets and buried family secrets that force her to rethink everything she’s ever preached about being a “wife.”
